Forsyth Park Medical Centre Transitioning to Mixed Billings
Forsyth Park Medical Centre will be transitioning to mixed billings on the 1st of August. This means that the centre will no longer be fully bulk billing all patients but what does this mean for you? Forsyth Park Medical Centre will still be bulk billing patients that are under 16 and over 65 and also patients that hold a pension or healthcare card. All other patients that do not meet these criteria will be required to pay for their doctor’s consults which will result in a small out of pocket cost. Why are we making these changes? With the rising costs of medical supplies, energy, and wages these changes are necessary for the centre to be able to provide the highest level of care to our patients. The government has only increased the Medicare rebate by 1.4% despite inflation being at 5%.

DNA Fee Policy Forsyth Park Medical Centre now has a Did Not Attend/Late Cancellation Policy in place. Patients who fail to attend appointments or do not cancel with adequate time with incur a fee of $40 per appointment. A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of all appointments. We do however, understand if emergencies arise. Forsyth Park Medical Centre uses SMS reminders through HotDocs as a convenient way to remind patients regarding their appointment 24 hours in advance. This service is a courtesy only and not receiving your SMS is not a valid reason that you have not attended your appointment. Patients must take responsibly of their own appointments and to arrive on time or reschedule with adequate notice. Did Not Attend/Late Cancellation Fees must be paid in full before being able to book another appointment. Patients that are repeat offenders will be restricted on how they can book their appointments.
